Meet the Supervisor of Student Services:
Ms.
Bills will be entering her 16th
year as a school social worker on a
child study team. She has been employed
for the past 10 years at Alexandria and
is currently in her third year as
Supervisor of Student Services.
Ms.
Bills started her career working with
juveniles and their families in her role
as a probation officer. As a probation
officer in Middlesex County for over
five years, Jennifer interacted with
families, school systems, family court,
D.Y.F.S., mental health agencies,
correctional programs, and alcohol and
drug residential treatment programs. In
addition to her job as a juvenile
probation officer, Ms. Bills served as a
detention control officer whereas she
acted as the liaison between police
departments and the correctional system
in regards to the placement of
juveniles.
Ms.
Bills received all her educational
training from Rutgers University. She
earned her BA in Sociology with a minor
in English and a certification in
Criminal Justice, her MSW (Masters in
Social Work) and her Supervisor
Certification from various schools
within Rutgers University.
Ms.
Bills is married with two daughters. One
daughter is currently attending The
College of New Jersey and one daughter
is in her third year at Rowan
University. Jennifer is actively
involved in the community. She is a
volunteer member with the Puppies Behind
Bars Program and is an active member of
the Hunterdon County Juvenile Conference
Committee.
PARENT
ADVISORY COUNCIL
The Parent
Advisory Council met on March 19, 2008,
before a presentation on Alcohol and
Drug Abuse Awareness and Prevention. The
P.A.C. was formed two years ago and is
open to parents of students receiving
any type of special education service.
The next meeting of the Parent Advisory
Council will take place in March 2009.
Date and time to be announced. Members
of the P.A.C. will continue to receive
community announcements and information
periodically throughout the school year.

students will be participating in the
Tournament of Champions field day
program in the spring of 2009. Details

CHILD FIND (ages
3-21)
The Alexandria
Township Schools annually seek to identify children who may be at risk
for future learning problems. If you have a child who has difficulty in
language development, cognition, acquisition of motor skills, or
social-emotional growth, you are encouraged to contact the Child Study
Team. This posting applies to students (ages 3-21) attending public
schools, private schools and transients. Students identified may be
eligible for special education and related services. Please contact

CHILD STUDY TEAM
Child Study Team members, specialists in the area
of disabilities, school personnel, and parents are responsible for
identification, evaluation, determination of eligibility, development
and review of the individualized education program, and placement.
Child Study Team members include a school
psychologist, a learning disabilities teacher-consultant and a school
social worker. All members are employed by the district board of
education. CST members participate in the evaluation of students who may
need special education programs and services according to the New Jersey
Administrative Code Title 6A (Chapter 14 – Special Education).
Specialists in the area of disability include, but are not limited to,
CST members, as well as speech-language specialists, occupational
therapists, physical therapists, audiologists, school nurse, and
physicians.
