PRE-SCHOOL (click here for brochure)

The Alexandria Early Learning Program is a pre-school program for children with special needs related to learning, speech and language development, motor development or social skills.

Within a nurturing environment, children receive intensive educational support while having a fun pre-school experience.  The daily routine includes a motor time, a sensory time, small group instruction (where specific needs are addressed), as well as snack, free play and circle time. Parents are viewed as partners in the educational process and regular communication is welcome.

Parent involvement includes monthly conferences with the teacher, a daily note explaining  Activities, correspondence books between parent and staff, and participation in various special events.  Our evening activities include a “Moms Group”, information meetings where guest or staff speakers share information related to special needs children, a “Dad and Me” night at school, and several social nights for the children and their siblings.

If you are interested in more information, please call Jennifer Bills, CST Coordinator at 908-996-6811  x 254.

EARLY INTERVENTION

Our Early Intervention Program helps students gain the necessary skills needed for academic success in reading and mathematics.  Students receive supplemental instruction for thirty minutes each day.  The instruction is delivered in a small group setting, using multi-sensory techniques to reinforce and extend the kindergarten classroom lessons.

LINC LANGUAGE

Linc Language in the classroom is a collaborative teaching model which allows the therapists to integrate speech/language IEP goals with classroom task demands, curriculum, and language arts content standards

BASIC SKILLS

Basic Skills is an intervention program where the students learn identification of letters and their sounds.  Vowel sounds are reviewed and students do rhyming to help them learn to read.  There is in-class support for math and language arts. The students individual needs are met in this program.
