ALEXANDRIA TOWNSHIP KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION

Alexandria Township residents who have children who will be five years old on or before October 1, 2010, should notify the school as soon as possible by calling 908-996-6812.

School officials will then send you a letter of information that will explain the procedures necessary for you to register your child PRIOR TO April 1st.

In addition to the regular screening of five year olds, the school district also provides Child Study Team evaluations of children 3 to 5 who are thought to have special needs.  Parents who suspect their pre-school child may have a disability in areas such as learning, language or behavior, should contact Joy Dominic by calling 996-6811 ext. 251, Monday through Friday.  Mrs. Dominic will make arrangements for your child to be screened by the child study team to determine if your child is eligible for a special education program.

New Recess Equipment

The National Association of Elementary School Principals has donated a playground equipment kit from the Cartoon Network. The recess kit includes playground balls, juggling scarves, and jump ropes. The Cartoon Network launched a campaign for Rescuing Recess. The campaign has several goals, including recognizing the importance of physical activity in the overall health and development of children.
