Vote for Alexandria School on the Kohl's $500,000 Giveaway!

Mrs. Glick is asking the families and friends of AMS to take a few minutes and vote for Alexandria School in the Kohl's Cares contest.

In celebration of Kohl's Cares® 10th anniversary, Kohl's is donating $500,000 to 20 schools each for a total of $10 million. AMS is in need of an Arts Center to provide the needed facility for the band program, concerts, and other programs. Your vote may help build a dream that will benefit all of our students. Please take a few minutes to cast your 5 votes, and invite your family and friends to vote too. The voting ends September 3!

Go to http://bit.ly/cgpftQ and click on "Vote Now", then follow the directions to log on to your Facebook account or you can sign up for a Facebook account. When asked for the school you want to vote for, type in "Pittstown, NJ" and Alexandria School will pop up. You can vote up to 20 times, but only 5 times for one school.

Thank you in advance for your support in the Arts at AMS!

Let's dream big and make a difference for Alexandria Township Schools!

Dear Parents/Guardians,

As per new school policy the school will no longer be providing physicals for students to participate in extra curricular activities.

If your child plans on participating in any extra curricular activities which require a physical you must obtain one prior to try-outs.

Students will not be able to participate without a complete physical on file.

Please visit our website for physical forms needed to participate.  They can be found under AMS - Sports.

The State of New Jersey has posted their inaugural issue of Middle Grades…On The Move! Supporting the Success of Young Adolescents.  This newsletter features articles written by New Jersey middle grades experts and showcases the exciting things happening in New Jersey’s schools.   Some great reading material that would assist anyone with Middle School aged children.

Parents,

A couple of reminders:

Please be aware that students are not permitted in the building until 8:30 every morning unless they are attending a scheduled session with a teacher.  Students who are dropped off early are to remain outside in front of the building until permitted entrance by certified personnel.

Also know that after 4:15 PM the Middle School is technically closed. We always have the building open, busy with activities, so students are able to access lockers for books and assignments.  At no time should a parent or student enter a classroom after school when the teacher is not present.  School personnel are directed not to open classroom doors for parents or students after school hours.   If you find yourself constantly at the Middle School in the evening retrieving materials please talk to your team of teachers to remedy the situation.

Regards,

D. Pawlowski
