On behalf of our Board of Education, staff, and administrators, welcome to the Delaware Valley Regional High School District.  Our high school, established in 1958-1959 for students residing in Alexandria, Frenchtown, Holland, Kingwood, and Milford, offers students a comprehensive academic program in preparation for a successful future.  The 2011-2012 school year opens with an enrollment of approximately 1,000 students.

Our district’s primary mission centers on offering students a sound, challenging academic program in an environment that promotes the social and emotional growth and development of each student.   Student opportunities include, but are not limited to, challenging core curricular offerings, Advanced Placement courses, varied elective choices, and shared programs with Hunterdon County Polytech Career Academy.    Clubs, co-curricular activities, service projects and athletic opportunities encourage students to become active participants in the “Del Val” experience, in preparation for their roles as contributing members of society.

This year’s goals, established and approved by the Board in June 2011, set the district’s course of action for the year:

·         To expand and implement shared services where there are improvements in service delivery or fiscal efficiencies that will accrue for the district;

·         To increase the percentage of students who are partially proficient to proficient; to increase the percentage of students who are proficient to advanced proficient on the High School Proficiency Assessment (HSPA);

·         To increase the number of students taking the SATs and to increase average SAT scores;

·         To continue to improve communications between and among students, staff, parents and community members through initiatives such as creating additional opportunities for staff to showcase student achievements, programs and best practices;

·         To complete the draft schedule for students by April 30^th, 2011 with the final schedule to be completed by the end of school, June 2012.

Achievement of these goals is a major focus for students, staff, and administrators.
